About Edy McClure
Edy McClure, MS, RD, CDCES, CD-N, is a Registered Dietician and Certified Diabetes Care And Education Specialist who is committed to helping her clients live a healthy lifestyle. She sifts through all of the cutting-edge nutritional research and diet trends and provides her clients with up-to-date nutritional advice in a way that is easy to understand and free from hype. Even with an understanding of nutrition, diet changes are not easy.
In 2004, Edy opened her own practice to provide continued emotional and educational support to help her clients reach their own goals and achieve optimum health. Prior to that, she was the Outpatient Dietitian at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Connecticut. She was responsible for diabetes education for staff, outpatients, and inpatients. Her work at Griffin Hospital kept her in the community giving seminars on a variety of nutrition and diabetes topics for children, adults, and senior citizens.

Edy received a Bachelor of Science from Widener University. She spent four years in contract food service management in corporate cafeterias, healthcare, and preparatory schools. In 1992, she continued to pursue her education by obtaining her Master of Science in Nutrition at New York University. While completing her Master's Thesis, she volunteered with Oxford Health Plans and the American Heart Association. She conducted research at Yale Children's Hospital focusing on Type 1 diabetic children at Yale Children's Hospital. Edy worked with overweight and obese urban children from New Haven on weight loss and normalizing cholesterol levels.
